Standing Written Orders for the Ada County / City Emergency Services System

These Standing Written Orders (SWOs) have been developed through a collaboration of nationally recognized guidelines, local medical practices, and insights from medical directors and the Standards of Care Committee (SOCC). The sources consulted include, but are not limited to:

• Basic Life Support (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS and ACLS-EP), and related courses
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP , NALS)
• Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS)
• Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) with associated courses, and Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS)

EMS personnel are advised to refer to the guidance and algorithms provided in these courses as a supplementary resource for the SWOs. In cases of discrepancies, the SWOs take precedence over any other algorithm. When deemed appropriate, alternative approaches may be taken in accordance with standard medical control, deviation, and documentation protocols.

These guidelines are intended solely for use by personnel within the Ada County / City Emergency Services System.
